Rail Trail Experience
NHDOT has received federal funding for acquisition and initial design of the rail trail from Hampton to Portsmouth. Now that the rail corridor has been acquired, the state is working with local communities to start the design, to enhance the Portsmouth portion of the rail trail as well as for the creation of access points.
In Portsmouth, access points are at Barberry Lane off of Islington Street. We will ride the trail as far as Ocean Road.
The trail is easy riding for those who will enjoy seeing the flora and fauna, but also away from vehicles.
